COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – A member of the South Carolina football team was arrested over the weekend, according to records obtained by WIS.
Running back Sam Williams-Dixon is charged with multiple counts linked to larceny and criminal conspiracy. Records show he was arrested on Saturday.
Williams-Dixon transferred to South Carolina from Ohio State in January after two seasons with the Buckeyes. WIS has reached out to the USC athletic department for clarification on his status with the football program.
According to warrants from the USC Police Department, Dixon and his brother, Elijah Williams-Dixon, allegedly broke into multiple vehicles between June 7 and 12.
During one of the break-ins at 650 Lincoln St. in Columbia, documents state the two reportedly stole a $6,000 chain, a $2,000 Gucci Watch, a pair of $1400 Rick Owens shoes and other items from a Dodge Charger.
Warrants also state the two later broke into a second vehicle at that same address, as well as a 2026 Mercedes SUV at 737 Gadsden St. A confession, video surveillance and property recovered from the brothers’ residence were all cited as evidence.
A USC spokesperson also clarified that Elijah Williams-Dixon has no affiliation with the university.
The brothers were each released on a $150,000 bond on Sunday, according to public court records.
Those records also state the pair’s are each scheduled for a first appearance in court on Aug. 28, a week before the Gamecocks’ season opener against Kent State.
