President Donald Trump said the US deal with Iran was “now complete” and authorized the toll-free reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the immediate removal of the US naval blockade, declaring on Truth Social: “Let the oil flow!”
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in a post on X that the US and Iran had reached a peace deal to immediately and permanently end military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, with a signing set for June 19 in Switzerland.
Iran condemned Israel’s strike on Hezbollah in Beirut as a breach of the ceasefire understanding, while senior Iranian military and political officials warned the attack would not go unanswered.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres welcomed the agreement between the United States and Iran, describing it as a major step toward ending the conflict and advancing a peaceful settlement.
"I warmly congratulate the US and Iran for having reached a peace deal that provides for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as a framework for further negotiations," Guterres said.
"This represents a critical step towards the peaceful settlement of the conflict," he added.
The UN chief also thanked regional countries that helped facilitate the negotiations, including Pakistan, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
Iran's state-affiliated Mehr News on Sunday published what it described as details of a 14-point draft memorandum of understanding between Tehran and Washington, provides for the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets during the 60-day talks
The reported draft has not been independently verified, and neither Iranian nor US officials have publicly confirmed its contents.It appears to match a version first published by Mehr News on Friday.
According to Mehr, the draft begins with an immediate and permanent end to military operations across all fronts, including Lebanon, alongside a US commitment not to interfere in Iran's internal affairs and to respect the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic.
The report says Washington would commit to lifting the naval blockade within 30 days, withdrawing forces from around Iran and allowing the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian arrangements during the same period.
The draft also reportedly provides for the release of $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets during the 60-day talks, with half the funds becoming available before negotiations begin.

Britain, France, Germany and Italy said they are prepared to lift sanctions on Iran in response to steps addressing its nuclear program following the agreement between Tehran and Washington to end the war.
In a joint statement on Sunday, the four countries welcomed the breakthrough and reiterated their longstanding position on Iran's nuclear activities.
"Iran must never acquire a nuclear weapon. We stand ready to work with the US, Iran and the IAEA to this end," the statement said.
The four European powers said they were prepared to lift sanctions as part of a process tied to Iranian nuclear commitments, signaling support for the next phase of negotiations expected to begin after the signing of the US-Iran memorandum of understanding on Friday.
Iran's Supreme National Security Council said Tehran and Washington have finalized a memorandum of understanding to end the war following months of negotiations.
In a statement, the council said military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, will end "immediately and permanently" from Sunday night.
It also said the naval blockade against Iran would be lifted immediately and in full.
The council said the memorandum will be formally signed on June 19 and that negotiations on a final agreement will begin only after the other side implements its commitments under the framework deal.
The statement thanked Pakistan and Qatar for their mediation efforts.
US President Donald Trump hailed the agreement with Iran as a historic breakthrough, saying it would bring peace and security to the Middle East and reopen the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping.
"This Great Deal will bring Peace and Security to the whole Region," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
"Many presidents have tried to make Peace with Iran, and all have failed before me. The leaders of the region have, for the first time, found a President who can help them achieve real Peace."
Trump said the Strait of Hormuz would reopen upon the signing of the agreement on Friday.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer welcomed the memorandum of understanding reached between the United States and Iran and said the UK stands ready to support the next phase of negotiations.
"I warmly welcome today's agreement reached between the United States and Iran," Starmer said.
He added that the UK was ready to support the technical talks.
"It remains the UK's firm and longstanding position that Iran must never have a nuclear weapon," he said.
Qatar's Prime Minister welcomed the memorandum of understanding reached between the United States and Iran, calling it an important step toward ending months of conflict and instability.
In a post on X, the Qatari premier praised the agreement and expressed hope that it would pave the way for a broader settlement and lasting regional stability.
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Tehran's commitments under the newly announced understanding with the United States will take effect from Friday.
Speaking after confirmation of the agreement, Gharibabadi said negotiations on a final deal would continue for 60 days and would focus primarily on the lifting of sanctions.
He added that Iran would enter the next phase of negotiations only after the unfreezing of Iranian assets, the end of the US-led blockade and the formal end of the war.
Iran's deputy foreign minister Kazem Ghribabadi said the immediate and permanent end of the war and military operations on multiple fronts, including Lebanon, will be announced starting tonight.
He added that negotiations on a final agreement between Tehran and Washington would take place over a 60-day period.
"The text of the memorandum of understanding will be published shortly, and the public will be able to see Iran’s achievements and commitments," he said. "Our commitments are not comparable to our gains."
Iranian officials are expected to comment shortly on reports of a possible understanding between Tehran and Washington, according to Tasnim News Agency.
The agency reported that Iranian officials would speak "within minutes" regarding reports circulating about a reported agreement.
