Rennsport's free Coast to Coast update adds Sebring and Laguna Seca to the game, alongside more AI improvements.

By Ross McGregor
Rennsport continues its long walk on the path of redemption as two free tracks have been added to the sim.
Laguna Seca and Sebring International Raceway are the headline features of the game’s Coast to Coast update, which also contains a host of bug fixes. Unfortunately, there’s no space for the previously announced Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, which will come in a future update.
The most important aspect here is the rollout of the second iteration of Rennsport’s AI opposition, which should see your hapless rivals drive more realistically. Rennsport custodian Competition Company and development partner Teyon have apparently decoupled AI behaviour away from frame-rate dependency, so if your PC is under-specced, the AI should behave more predictably.
AIs should also be quicker across all circuits and make fewer bizarre off-track excursions through random braking events, although issues still remain. For example, players may still notice AI cars crashing into each other at Sebring and the Nordschleife, with the latter’s famous Karussell corners home to some odd behaviour.
Sebring and Laguna Seca are massively important endurance racing venues, with both featuring in North America’s premier sports car series, IMSA. The championship uses both LMDh (GTP) and GT3 cars, with each category represented in-game, making their inclusion a boon for motorsport fans.
The full changelog for Rennsport’s V1.2.9 update is listed at the bottom of this article.
Competition Company has also confirmed that Rennsport’s Standard Edition will be permanently 50% cheaper. The new deal is set to begin on the 19th June.
