Get ready for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort
Wuhu Island is back later this year in Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and to get everyone ready, Nintendo has today added the original Wii Sports Resort soundtrack to Nintendo Music.
This soundtrack contains a total of 99 tracks and has a run time of 1 hour and 37 minutes. To listen to this album, you’ll need to have an active Switch Online subscription and access to Nintendo Music via the official app or web browser.

If you didn’t catch the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort announcement during the Nintendo Direct this week, it will come loaded with 12 sports including Boxing, Table Tennis, Archery, Tennis, Volleyball, Bowling, Basketball, Golf, Thumb Wrestling, Skateboarding, Power Cruising and Prop Plane.
This new title is arriving for the Switch 2 later this year on 22nd October 2026, with pre-orders now available on the eShop. This latest update for Nintendo Music follows an update earlier this week, which added some free roam songs from Mario Kart World.

Hm. It sorta seems like we're getting 2 releases per week now.
Am I the only one confused why we’re getting Tennis, volleyball, bowling, golf, and basketball when it’s already in the switch (one) sports?
@Triple_Cherries Why buy one when you can get 2 at twice the price?
Serious answer: my guess is since this is a Switch 2 release, they included them instead of offering an upgrade pack for the first game.
@LinktotheFuture I guess Switch (one) Sports will just be the home for diving headfirst in soccer. But not having swordplay is a miss for this release
The soundtrack of my and many other 2000s kids childhoods. I miss grinding for records against my siblings. What a time.
@Triple_Cherries i think at this point nintendo sees tennis, bowling, and golf as absolutes that are too big to not include each time. but the others im also confused on
i guess volleyball was the most popular new sport from switch sports, and basketball was a wii sports resort veteran so it makes sense to bring back? losing chambara blows tho, best sport
@AussieMcBucket Yep, seems we’ll get a Mario Kart Free Roam update at the start of the week and new game at the end of the week 😃
@Triple_Cherries yeah swordplay could have been upgraded to include die Wii resort modes

@Triple_Cherries Yeah, I really want swordplay and frisbee golf. Thumb wrestling seems like a really weird choice. Hopefully additional sports will be added.
Baseball would be great as well.
@Triple_Cherries I mean Wii Sports Resort had a couple carryovers from Wii Sports.
It’s also a good deal because then it’s less of a choice…
Until they charge for swordfighting in a DLC pack.

@Suketoudara They said they'll add Free Roam tracks 'regularly' so I'd say it's safe to assume that's the plan.

So as expected we got a regular update on Friday and the Mario Kart World one on Tuesday was (and most likely will keep on being) just an extra – anyway, glad to see the Wii Sports Resort soundtrack coming to Nintendo Music and even more so since it's a great one!

@Triple_Cherries I’m crossing my fingers that they initially planned the sequel as an upgrade pack that would try to fix the issues of the first game, but instead they opted to just make a new game with a different structure and a fixed content unlocking method

Dog frisbee was my favourite… If they are improving the games such as adding proper races, championships and alike and not just the same old time/score modes then I can understand them not including all sports. But if they're just copying games across from WiiSportsResort, which let's not forget was a glorified tech demo for WiiMotionPlus, then it's lazy not to include all the games IMO
