Two teams looking to get back on track face off Friday as the Cincinnati Reds host the Arizona Diamondbacks to open a three-game set.
The Reds were a postseason team last fall but haven’t been able to build on that success, sitting last in the NL Central and losing 10 of their last 13 entering the weekend. Arizona has fared better overall but has dropped three of its last four series as it tries to keep pace in the competitive NL West.

The Diamondbacks will send veteran lefty Eduardo Rodriguez to the mound Friday, hoping he’ll continue a strong start to the season (5-2, 2.52 ERA) and bounce back from taking a loss against the Nationals last time out. The Reds counter with a southpaw of their own in Nick Lodolo (2-1, 5.51 ERA), who missed the first six weeks of the season with blister problems and is still trying to find a groove.
Who will open the series with a win Friday night? Here’s everything you need to know to watch.
