Gemini in Chrome is designed to function as an AI-powered browsing companion that helps users summarize web pages, compare information across multiple tabs, answer questions about online content, and complete tasks without leaving their current browsing session.
The latest update significantly expands Gemini’s capabilities by integrating more closely with Google’s ecosystem of services.
Users can now perform a variety of actions directly through Gemini in Chrome, including:

Google says the feature aims to streamline content creation and visual experimentation without interrupting the browsing experience.
Google is also expanding its Personal Intelligence initiative, allowing Gemini to provide more tailored responses based on information available across a user’s Google services.

Gemini can deliver personalized recommendations, insights, and answers that are more relevant to each user.
Additionally, Gemini in Chrome can now remember context from previous conversations, enabling more natural follow-up interactions and reducing the need to repeatedly provide the same information.
Google emphasized that the new AI experiences have been designed with security and user control in mind.
According to the company, the underlying AI models are trained to identify and resist known attack methods, including prompt injection attempts that could manipulate AI behavior.
Additional safeguards include:
These measures are intended to ensure that users remain in control of actions involving personal data, communications, or account access.
Google confirmed that Gemini in Chrome and many of Chrome’s latest AI features are rolling out starting today for desktop and iOS users across additional global markets, including Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.
