Applications are now being accepted for the Students to Arrive Ready for School, or S.T.A.R.S., program through the Jamieson Community Center, informs Executive Director Nancy Mowen:
“S.T.A.R.S. is our school supply program. The application is very short. Parents, when you call in, we need to know what grade and what school their child will be attending in the fall. That is very important because we fill those school supplies directly from the teacher’s list,” says Mowen.
“Shoutout to Community National Bank for their ongoing sponsorship, to area churches who have been very supportive of the program, and all the individuals and businesses and organizations that contribute,” Mowen adds.
Last year, 200 students received school supplies through the S.T.A.R.S. program.
