New software update for the Egg Tester Ultimate™ and Egg Tester Plus™ – The Poultry Site

Higher-resolution yolk color measurement
ORKA Food Technology is pleased to announce a new software update for the Egg Tester Ultimate™ and Egg Tester Plus™ that provides enhanced yolk color measurement precision.
Previously, yolk color values were displayed as whole numbers (1–16) based on the DSM Yolk Color Fan. With the latest software update, yolk color measurements are now displayed with decimal precision (e.g., 2.6, 3.2, 8.7), enabling finer differentiation between samples and improved monitoring of subtle color variations.
This enhanced resolution allows researchers, feed manufacturers, poultry producers, and quality-control professionals to detect and analyze small yolk color differences that were previously grouped into the same score.
