Meta has added support for additional languages including Hindi to its AI translation feature for Reels on Instagram and Facebook. The feature had been expanded in August for bilingual speakers in English and Spanish – the feature has now added Hindi and Portuguese.
“With Meta AI, creators can now seamlessly translate and dub reels, breaking down language barriers so they can share their work with more viewers worldwide,” a blog posted by Meta stated.
The feature is available free of cost for all public accounts on Instagram and for Facebook creators with 1,000 followers or more.
Creators can enable automatic translation for Reels via the “Translate your voice with Meta AI” option and select the language they want to translate to. After reviewing the dubbed video, they can post the reel.
They can also turn the feature off. There’s also a lip-syncing feature that syncs the translated audio to the creator’s lips so that the dubbed video seems natural.
Meta is also working on a feature that translates text or caption stickers with Reels to other languages.
