Welcome to Indie App Spotlight. This is a weekly 9to5Mac series where we showcase the latest apps in the indie app world. If you’re a developer and would like your app featured, get in contact.
Habit tracking apps are a dime a dozen, but Grit Method sets itself apart by requiring you to be more thoughtful. With your input, the app clearly outlines four clear goals for you to work towards daily, and it’s about more than just being more productive.
Grit Method asks you to be thoughtful for four goals:
For most people, this’ll be outlining one true goal of yours, outlining how you’ll make sure you don’t get distracted from it, being appreciative of something going on in life so you don’t bog yourself down, and thinking of a way you can help others. It shifts goals from being fully productivity-based to also making sure you’re consistently a strong person.
In the app, theres the things you’d normally expect from a habit tracking app, like streaks and detailed stats. Beyond that, theres a graph that outlines your consistency in each of the four areas, which you can also add as a widget to your home screen.
Every day, the app will ask you what you want to do in the four areas – and it aims to help you not just build habits, but build character, help others, and be more mindful.
Grit Method is available on the App Store for devices running iOS 26.1 and later. It does require a subscription, which would traditionally be priced at $4.99/month or $24.99/year. However, theres two special offers for 9to5Mac readers.
First, you can get a discounted $14.99/year subscription with a 7 day free trial using code 9to5Mac15. Or, if you’re ready to commit, you can get a steep discount, getting three years for the price of one at just $24.99. If you have subscription fatigue, the latter option is an incredibly strong one. That offer is available using code 9to5Mac.
AI does unfortunately have an ongoing cost, so there can’t be a true lifetime purchase offer – but three years is quite a long time, and the developer, David Barnard, promises another great offer once the first three years are up.
In any case, if you’re looking to improve your habits or invigorate some change in your life, give Grit Method a try!

Michael is 9to5Mac’s Weekend Editor, keeping up with all of the latest Apple news on Saturday and Sunday. He got started in the world of Apple news during the pandemic, and it became a growing hobby. He’s also an indie iOS developer in his free time, and has published numerous apps over the years.
Featuring two built in cables, a built in display, multiple ports, a 25,000mAh capacity, and up to 100W of output – this is one of the best battery banks for recharging your entire Apple ecosystem on the go.
Despite a new version reportedly being around a corner, I still personally believe AirPods Pro 2 are a great deal. They’re already equipped with USB-C, and continually gain new software features. With them consistently going on sale, it’s a great purchase to make. Features like Adaptive Audio are incredible.
