A two-year-old boy, who was walking with his mother, was crushed to death after an SUV hit them from behind. The mother was also injured in the incident. The locals rushed them to a nearby private hospital where the child was declared brought dead by doctors. It is being said that the mother is out of danger.
According to the police, the accused driver was arrested without any delay.
The driver — identified as Rohit of Sector 87, Greater Faridabad, — is a software engineer with a Noida company.
According to the complaint filed by Lakshmi, who lives near Amaulik Chowk, on Sunday late evening she was travelling with her son Pradeep to Kachha Khedi Road. Half a kilometer down Khedi Road, they were hit by an SUV and the front wheel of the vehicle went over Pradeep’s head.
A case has been registered against the driver.
“During questioning, Rohit said that he was returning home from work. After reaching Khedi Road, he lost his control, causing Pradeep to fall under the vehicle. We handed over the body of the child to kin after the postmortem”, said the investigating officer ASI Surendra Kumar.
