HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Katie Pickman, general manager of Hawaii News Now, sits down with Billy V to celebrate Thursday’s historic partnership between UH Athletics and Hawaii News Now.
Under a new four-year agreement beginning July 1, 2026, the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Athletics Department has selected Hawaii News Now as its broadcast partner. The deal marks a major shift for fans statewide, moving the primary home for local UH sports broadcasts from a subscription cable model to free, high-definition over-the-air television.
Billy also talks story with Joey Cadiz, former UH running back turned lifeguard, who is now helping the North Shore community recover from the Kona Low storms. He shares his journey and what drives his commitment to serving others.
Finally, Billy sits down with Maui-born musician Anthony Pfluke, this year’s leading Nā Hōkū Hanohano nominee with eight nominations, including Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year for his latest project, Ku’u Lei Lokelani. He talks about the album’s success and the inspiration behind his music.
