Sony Interactive Entertainment has included a Showcase Mode in the latest PS5 system software update on the Welcome Hub.
This is an optional feature that displays your background in full view after a set time while you are idle in the Welcome Hub. Furthermore, Slideshow Mode can be enabled to rotate your favourite images.
As previously reported, the new PS5 firmware update is a major milestone for the console as it introduces Sony’s upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), which greatly enhances the image quality of compatible titles beyond that of the standard version of the tech. Sony has already confirmed that the likes of Resident Evil Requiem, Monster Hunter Wilds, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Cyberpunk 2077 will support upgraded PSSR.
The PS5 system update is currently undergoing a phase rollout, so be sure to check your console to see if it’s available to you.
