LMPD officer fatally shoots suspect in Klondike – WLKY

The Louisville Metro Police Department say a man is dead following an officer involved shooting near the Klondike neighborhood.
During a press conference held by police, officials said they received reports of an assault in the 3000 block of Cromarty Way, which is near Six Mile Lane.
On route to the scene, officers were informed that the suspect was running through the streets naked.

Officers on scene found the suspect, a nude man, sitting in the street.
Police say the man did not follow officers commands to show his hands, and instead stood up and began to approach the officers.
Officials say the officer told the man to stop and when the man did not stop, the officer shot at the man.
Despite efforts to render aid to the man, he was pronounced dead on the scene by medical personnel.
Per LMPD Critical Incident Timeline, body worn camera footage will be released within 7 to 10 business days.
LMPD’s Public Integrity Unit will lead the investigation.
