TAIPEI: Computex 2026 is set to spotlight Taiwan’s growing dominance in the global artificial intelligence (AI) supply chain, as top chipmakers and technology executives gather in Taipei next week for one of the industry’s biggest events. Jensen Huang said Nvidia plans to spend up to USD 150 billion annually in Taiwan, describing the island as the center of the AI revolution. Lisa Su also announced major long-term investment plans in Taiwan’s AI sector.
Ahead of the June 2 to 5 trade show, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an presented Huang with the key to the city on May 27, underscoring Nvidia’s growing influence in Taiwan’s booming AI economy.
The event is expected to focus heavily on AI infrastructure, data center systems, advanced processors, robotics, and manufacturing technologies rather than traditional consumer electronics. Nvidia’s upcoming Vera Rubin AI platform, new CPUs, and partnerships with Taiwanese firms, including TSMC, Foxconn, and Quanta Computer, are expected to dominate discussions.
Executives from Intel, Qualcomm, Arm Holdings, Marvell Technology, and NXP Semiconductors are also attending the expanded trade show, which features around 1,500 exhibitors.
The event comes amid rising geopolitical tensions between China and the United States over Taiwan, even as the island’s AI-related exports continue to surge rapidly.
