The Papillion Police Chief confirmed to KETV NewsWatch 7 that officers were involved in a shooting at the Papillion Home Depot.
Chief Chris Whitted said the suspect was injured in the shooting in the area near East Sixth and Washington streets and transported to the hospital for treatment. Investigators confirmed neither police nor bystanders were injured.
Witnesses told KETV Newswatch 7 they saw several police cruisers chasing a car near the Home Depot just before 9 p.m. Friday night. They told KETV they heard multiple gunshots, then saw the vehicle crash into the store. They immediately heard 10 to 15 gunshots. People biking on the nearby trail also said they ran for cover.
Police confirmed an additional scene at 96th and Portal streets was connected.
Witnesses showed KETV NewsWatch 7’s Beth Carlson footage they shot of the red vehicle at that scene before it was spotted driving into the Papillion Home Depot parking lot.
The Sarpy County Force Investigation Team is investigating.
