Dhvanit Rajdeep, a 23-year-old Indian student in Tbilisi who had been missing for more than two weeks, has been found dead in the Mtkvari River, police confirmed to Civil.ge.
An investigation has been launched under Article 115, which covers “incitement to suicide” and is standard procedure in cases where a person is found dead under similar circumstances.
Rajdeep was studying medicine at Caucasus International University in Tbilisi, which said on May 27, following Indian media reports about the student’s disappearance, that he was last seen on May 14 at 3:30 p.m. near the Caucasus Medical Centre in Tbilisi’s Saburtalo district.
Reports in the Indian media suggested his disappearance followed a dispute with his Indian landlord in Tbilisi.
