Coming off four-game series against division opponents, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Minnesota Twins will face off Friday night to open a weekend set.
The game marks the season debut for Pirates starter Jared Jones, who will make his first start since Sept. 27, 2024 after completing his rehab from elbow surgery. Still just 24 years old, the right-hander had a promising rookie season two years ago before sitting out all of 2025.

He rejoins a Pirates team that has been playing solid baseball but can’t catch a break in the standings, as the NL Central remains the lone division in baseball with every team boasting a winning record.

Minnesota has shaken off its April malaise with a strong May and will send arguably its most effective starter to the mound Friday in Taj Bradley, who is 5-1 with a 2.77 ERA and has allowed just 42  hits in 52 innings while striking out 59.
