RICE COUNTY, MINN. (Valley News Live) – New state record set in Minnesota after angler catches 4 pound crappie.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has certified a new state record black crappie, caught by an angler from Lino Lakes.
David Selle landed the 4-pound, 1-ounce crappie on Cedar Lake in Rice County, according to the DNR.
The fish now holds the state’s certified weight record for black crappie, edging out the previous mark by just over an ounce.
Selle’s catch was recently verified and added to Minnesota’s record fish list.
